I first got into the Fatal Frame series when I caught a cold in the fall of my 5th grade year. I had remembered seeing ads for it in old Playstation magazines and had been thinking about it, so I decided to look into it a little bit.

I ended up on the Zero Wiki, looking through pages for Fatal Frame 2 specifically. I remember thinking everything sounded so beautiful and dark. I wanted to play it, but it was way out of my reach at the time.

I spent a couple of years really wanting the game and eventually got it for Christmas one year in middle school! It was just as much fun as I thought it would be despite knowing pretty much everything there was to know about it from years of just reading and rereading the wiki and (at the time) forum.

I ended up playing them out of order, actually! I played the first three like: 2, 3, then 1. Then I managed to play some tricks on my Wii so I could play the remake of 2, then 4. I ended up with a 3DS and played Spirit Camera as well. I also remember being excited when the 5th one was announced.

All in all, I would say the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th games are probably my favorites in the series! Specifically story wise. The remaster of the 4th one really made the game that much better to me and I love the improved controls and graphics. The ending to 3 gets me every time and the ending of 2 is still tragically beautiful.
